Laboratory Associate Position

Founded in 2013, Rincon Bio is a pre-clinical CRO focusing on in vivo cancer efficacy studies, both xenograft (human cell models) and syngeneic (immunotherapy models).  Our clients range from university PIs to mid-size pharmaceutical companies.  Rincon Bio is a US-based organization, born from a desire to simplify the process of running cancer efficacy studies, and to provide domestic quality at competitive prices.

The Laboratory Associate is a full-time position that organizes and carries out in vivo efficacy studies, specifically tumor models (xenografts and syngeneic studies), under the oversight of a Project Manager or Scientific Director.  

Job duties include: 

  • Keeping studies organized, on-schedule, and in adherence to protocol

  • Understanding scientific rationale for studies and study design

  • Formulating and dosing test compounds

  • Culturing and implanting cancer cells in mice

  • Handling laboratory mice and rats; general animal husbandry

  • Weighing mice and measuring tumor volume

  • Documenting tumor model data and study findings

  • Preparing data for study reports

  • Tracking and ordering laboratory supplies

Requirements/Qualifications: 

  • BS Degree (minimum) in a life science or biochemistry

  • Some Part- or Full-Time research laboratory experience required, but previous experience specifically with lab animals or cancer models is not required - Rincon Bio is willing to train the applicant 

  • Experience with Excel and data entry/processing/analysis

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are extremely important

  • Ability to handle some repetitive tasks with precision

  • Interest in cancer drug discovery, and a desire to learn about and be part of cutting edge scientific discovery

  • In general, schedule will be: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Location: Currently, Rincon Bio is located in Murray, UT. However, the company plans to relocate to south Draper/Bluffdale UT area
